Before You Start

Welcome to Starting Solids, a class designed to help you feel more prepared, informed, and confident as you begin your baby’s transition to food.

Starting solids is one of the most exciting milestones in your baby’s first year, but it can also feel overwhelming. This course will walk you through everything you need to know in a way that feels simple, practical, and easy to follow.

Thank you for trusting us to guide you through this stage.

Starting Solids - Explore the Course

What We’ll Cover

✓ When your baby is developmentally ready to start solids

✓ Safe feeding practices, including gagging vs. choking

✓ What textures and foods to begin with

✓ How to support self-feeding and oral motor development

✓ How to progress textures over time

✓ Introducing cups and drinking skills

✓ Food safety, allergens, and nutritional considerations

✓ What normal mealtimes actually look like

✓ How to reduce stress and build positive feeding experiences

This class is meant to give you a clear starting point and help you feel confident navigating this stage without second guessing every decision.

A gentle reminder: starting solids is not about perfection, it’s about learning.

Every baby moves at their own pace, and it’s completely normal for intake to vary, for things to get messy, and for some days to feel easier than others.

Take what feels helpful, stay consistent, and remember that this stage is about exploration, skill-building, and exposure over time.
